渣馬用特步 香港超馬用Skechers/園丁

博友高逹奔上周片特步,還以為香港跑友一定一呼百應,你問我揀Nike定係揀李寧;揀iphone定係揀小米,呢個問題根本唔需要諗。雖然唔鍾意特步的跑友係好多,但勢估唔到都有本地跑友認為,反正香港人係食梅林牌午餐肉大、鉛筆用慣中華牌,點解要因為特步係大陸牌就要反?New Balance咪一樣係大陸生產!

似乎特步贊助渣馬真係幾有效,已經開始搵到些粉絲,特步應該要考慮來香港開分店。有這一群對品牌無所謂的跑友,討厭特步的跑友,恐怕難以用消費者的力量逼渣馬棄用特步了。

品牌有價,外國品牌贊助的疏爽程度,肯定唔及強國牌。據江湖消息流傳,強國牌唔單止送每一件Tee,仲有現dull dull的現金贊助,條件好過晒其他外國牌子,所以渣馬情願選用檔次較低、形像較差的特步。當然,多了的贊助金額是否用在比賽?是否用在跑友身上?還是去了田總的荷包?這就無從稽考了。

但也不是所有新比賽,都為了贊助額而投向強國牌、李寧或特步的懷抱。超馬會的經驗話你知,有些賽會係有要求,唔係純粹用價高者得、捨難取易來衡量找誰來贊助。

超馬會找到Skechers作為贊助品牌,包括贊助由毅行教室的消防員陳國強訓練的香港精神隊,以及於一月三十、三十一日舉行的第一屆24小時超馬賽。每個參加者,唔喺送一件Tee,而係送一對跑鞋!

賽事在大埔白石角海濱長廊舉行,每圈一公里長,由早上11時開始繞圈跑。據超馬會秘書長朱鼎良說,參加24小時賽的男女跑手,只要揀對Go ride 3/Go Run Ultra著住跑三圈,呢對鞋就送畀你的。

Skechers這兩三年在香港開了不少分店,亦有贊助一個10公里的夜跑。若讀者有印像,我去年寫過一篇,題為Skechers跑贏Nike的文章,談及Skechers近年的股價走勢凌厲,2014年首季正式爬過老牌子New Balance頭,成為美國第五大的跑鞋暢銷牌子。

近年來Skechers最佳靚抽,就是冷手執個熱煎堆,簽下了美國名將Meb Keflezighi(上圖)。2010年Nike嫌Meb年事已高,過了運動員顛峰,只願意開一個極差的條件跟他續約,Meb當然不願委曲接受。終於在七個月,Skechers簽下這位人棄我取的老兵,隨後該公司設計隊詳細訪問Meb,了解他對跑鞋每一部分的要求,依樣劃葫蘆設計了第一對跑鞋。換了跑鞋並不影響Meb的表現,他贏了2012年美國奧運馬拉松選拔賽,並於同年的倫敦奧運會奪第四名,勝出波馬更是攀上他職業生涯的最高峰,為美國重奪失落了31年的波馬冠軍,也帶挈Skechers 的股價水漲船高。

簽了Meb之後,Skechers於去年把美國的精英女跑手Kara Goucher收進旗下。成功轉形後的Skechers,不只是休閒鞋的品牌,也是最頂尖精英選用的牌子。

PS:回到香港的超馬賽。可惜,沒有能耐跑24小時的我,與以下這堆Skechers鞋無緣了…

    Besides Shape-ups, Skechers also made deceptive claims about its Resistance Runner, Toners, and Tone-ups shoes, the FTC alleged. Consumers who bought these “toning” shoes will be eligible for refunds either directly from the FTC or through a court-approved class action lawsuit, and can submit a claim here. The settlement with the FTC is part of a broader agreement, also being announced today resolving a multi-state investigation, which was led by the Tennessee and Ohio Attorneys General Offices and included attorneys general from 42 other states and the District of Columbia.

    “Skechers’ unfounded claims went beyond stronger and more toned muscles. The company even made claims about weight loss and cardiovascular health,” said David Vladeck, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “The FTC’s message, for Skechers and other national advertisers, is to shape up your substantiation or tone down your claims
